hey mckeever, what size injectors are you looking to install next time around? perhaps that was answered earlier in the thread but i noticed your profile says pink tops and a 255 fuel pump. is that still current?
i have pink tops plus an additional 650 injector with a 190 fuel pump, i have needs to deliver more fuel at a higher accuracy as well and not sure if you can go too big assuming ur still running a stock fuel rail or close enough
stock rail will go out to 400+(rwhp) depending on setup
im still on the stock rail, regulator, and lines

Re: Went To The 1/4 Mile
AEM is hard to work with compared to others, but I know some people in town that are good with the AEM, one reason why I went with it.
I plan on installing some 440's that I got off of a supra along time ago. 440's will keep me below 400hp which will work good with the stock fuel rail (like 1st_TACO said), also the 440's should fit in the fuel rail with no problems. That's the plan anyway.

As far as installation goes any standalone will be a decent amount of work, you need to wire up your sensors and injectors, fuel pump, etc....plus you need to know polarity of some of these sensors/drivers and if you tap into the stock harness you need schematics and know how to properly read them.
Then after that you need to figure out why it wont start, then figure that out, then you need to get it to run, the you need to get it to drive, then you start tuning and figuring out how to tune it.
A standalone is not for most people, since it requires a great deal of knowledge to get going. Not to mention the numerous hours of learning curve before you even know what your doing, or at least think you know what you are doing.
It gets comjplicated when dealing with all the different modifiers based on load temp and other conditions, and one thing always affects others so it can get frustrating.
However I loove my Haltech!! FTW!!!

If I were you I would try a wider tire. I have seen Tacomas comfortably riding on 245 width tires and that gives you a wider footprint. My stock tires are 215.Of course, redoing your suspension will have great results too. By the way, how much was the Truetrac?
x2, I have 245 and they hook okay for a street tire. I personally would not recommend airing down a street radial.

Re: Went To The 1/4 Mile
McKeever,
In 2001:
-no load leaf,
-Nitto Drag Radial 555R's with around 20psi
-an open diff
-launching somewhere around 4500rpm/rev limiter.
-cutting consistent 2.0 60'
-high 13's even missing fourth on 10psi.
With what you have done, you should be right there if not faster.
If you can't get traction, air up the tires and find the sweet spot.
Voodoo,
Spin the tires over on your way up to the line next time to clean any sand, water or debris off your tires. It has helped me in the past. Now I just run a set of MT DR's and cut 1.6x 60's. Link in sig of my buddy who owned the truck before and is still a driver from time to time.
Either of you have a traction bar or some sort? Helped us a lot!

Mine was on street tires. I took off my traction bar to do the 4-link. Not getting to much (at least as much as I thought I would get) wheel hop. My best 60 foot was that first run of the night. The glue was fresh and I was literally the first vehicle on the track that night. After that ambient air intake temps. and no tune for the area made the runs worse and worse.
