it be cheaper to get and actual mustang and supercharge it and get 500hp than it would be to swap that motor in there.
i mean if we are throwing motors in to the mix why dont we get the ford gt motor 5.4 s/c all aluminum block we get rid of the supercharger and put twin turbos and bam 1000 ponies hahah
I don't think the 4valves would fit. They are seriously wide in the heads. We would have to lift the engine to make it fit and there goes a low center of gravity. But if your a ford guy that's an excellent choice and 700 is the limit of power before pop goes the weasel. A lot of hp at 42,000 rpm is nice but I'll take monster tq at 1100rpm and a big fat curve of it too. And an all aluminum diesel block like the tdi VW or the ecotech from Mercedes would be an awesome LIGHT easy to boost starting point. And I'm sure like the cummins you can do two biturbos one small to start and one big to finish times 2 and a Lil 2.0L D at 50psi will be screaming fast. And when not heavily into boost you'll see at least 30+ mpg and maybe into low-mid 40's. Dreams sure are cheap.

nah just go all out with the 6.7 Cummins lol
easy 1K HP lol.....throw of your weight dist. beyond belief but hey...it be dope
Hey hedles let's just mount the engine in the bed to a transaxle. No more traction issues. Did you see that 24V 5.9 doing 108psi with the two aurora biturbos. Something like 1600hp. Built motor by schneider. I want to know the tq on that thing. 4000???
Here 2010 Corvette grand sport 430 hp price $58,580,2010 zo6 505 hp $74,285,2010 zr1 638 hp $106,880 i could build a x with more hp than the zo6 for way less money and still put a thousand pounds in the bed transport it were ever drop it off and still go to the track and give the zo6 a run for the money both in the corners and on the straight lol
Not on the corners, Corvettes are good at autocross for a reason, they handle well. All the horsepower won't make up for the weight, truck suspension, etc. It will take a lot of work to make an XRunner handle on that level.

exactly. there is a reason the Porsche's, Lotus's, Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, GTR's, etc, etc, are all chasing the Corvettes at autocrosses and road races. i see it at every event i go to.
the gap only gets larger when suspension and engine mods are done. at that point, even the C4 is the car to catch.
you may be able to take one around a corner with a lousy driver, but do you really think you can come close to one with a good driver ? for the record, i have a lot of track time in an XR and my SR. i would never believe either can compare to even a stock Corvette. we have 1950's suspension technology after all... and even my race civic has a much better weight distribution. ( and way better suspension geometry )
also for the record... i am not really a GM fan. but i have to admit, they did the Corvette right. it's success in organized corner racing cannot be denied.

4000 lbs of thrust. I think that truck would grow wings.
I believe the merc D is a V6. Lil brother to the one in the sprinter vans and they get like 25mpg loaded. One of my carpenters a cabinet installer avg's 25+ with almost 2k in the back. And wcd never really thought of it like thrust but that's a good analogy. Problem is they're like a 747 in weight. Big boy.
