Honda Del-Sol Seat Install Questions?

Okay before any of you start barking. I did do some searching.

I know the brackets for the Del-Sol Seats are the same as civic seats and according to another member all I need to do is flatten out the rear brackets and drill new holes. My questions are in regards to mainly seatbelts and solid mounting?

As far as the seat belts go how should I go about it. Should I get honda belts and replace the belts or the belt buckles?

And after I drill the holes in the floor do I need to weld a bolt to the bottom of my truck or just Drill the holes smaller then the bolt and thread it threw?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated since I hav'nt started the install yet the seats are just in my garage awaiting my arrival.

I'm not familiar with the Del Sol seats, so forgive the basic questions:

- Do the Del Sol seats have the seat belt 'receiver' / 'anchor' thingie mounted on their inboard sides?

- ... Or does Honda anchor the inboard seat receptacles to the floor?

- Do the Honda seat belt receptacle thingies fit / work with your OEM Taco seat belts?

The most straightforward thing you could do would be to transplant your Taco seat belt receptacles onto the seat / base / floor so you aren't really changing anything. As long as you can latch the belts you'll be fine.

You need to anchor the seats through the floor with a solid bolt and nut.

First - do a bunch of test fitting and measurement to ensure you drill the holes just right (and not through anything underneath the floor pan).

The 'better' way to go about it would be to tack weld the **nuts** underneath the floor pan at each hole. This will permit you to undo the fasteners without having to crawl underneath the truck.

The 'merely acceptable' way to do it would be to simply run the bolts through from the top (interior) and thread the nuts on from underneath.

I played with the seats for a bit today tomorrow I will be driving around with level one weight reduction lol. I am transplating honda seats maybe I am thinking a little to honda with that one lol. In taco terms I have no passenger seat at the moment. but for your questions enola and the rest of the peeps on the forum.

the Seatbelt recps are mounted inboard on the seat so thats going to be an easy swap I hope. I tried making the front holes line up and mount like a fellow ct'r said they did. I had no luck.

If anyone reading this has honda seats please post some pics so i can get an idea of where you mounted them. Supposedly the honda brackets are the same as the these brackets. I will toy around tomorrow and try to find new mounting points in my truck.

Thanks and Yall have a good night.
